During your trial, you can:

You can focus on one martial art or experience several programs during the week.
Muay Thai
THE ART OF 8 LIMBS
Learn punches, kicks, knees, elbows, defensive movement and clinching through our structured Systematic Muay Thai program.
Beginner classes use padwork, partner drills and controlled exercises with no head contact.
No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu
THE GENTLE ART
Learn takedowns, guard passing, positional control, escapes and submissions through our adult No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu program.
Beginners develop their skills through structured positional training alongside other new students.
Mixed Martial Arts
THE ADAPTABLE ART
Learn how every range connects through the Art of Adaptability.
Beginner MMA uses controlled drills and isolated resistance exercises without unrestricted fighting or head contact.

Arrive 10 Minutes Early
Come slightly before class so you can check in, meet your coach and become familiar with the academy.

Attend suitable beginner classes and experience the programs before choosing whether to continue.
What to Expect in Your First Class
Before Class
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring a water bottle. For adult classes, avoid clothing with metal fittings, large pockets or zippers.
Let your coach know about any previous injuries, medical concerns or physical limitations.
During Class
Your coach will introduce the lesson and explain the goal of each activity. You will practise with pads or a training partner, depending on the class.
Everything is introduced progressively. You are not expected to know what to do before arriving.
After Class
The session finishes with a short recap and handshake.
You can ask questions, speak with your coach and confirm which class to attend next.
Safe, Progressive Training
Martial arts contain physical contact, but new students are introduced to training gradually.
Beginner classes have no head contact.
Sparring is never mandatory.
Muay Thai beginners develop skills through padwork and controlled partner exercises.
Jiu-Jitsu and MMA beginners use positional games and isolated resistance to practise realistic problems within clear safety rules.
You will not be pushed into unrestricted sparring or competition.
Adult Trial Programs
Adults can trial:
- Beginner Muay Thai
- Beginner No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu
- Beginner Mixed Martial Arts
You can train one art as a complete standalone pathway or combine multiple programs.
One Apex membership provides access to the wider academy within your membership allocation.
Kids and Teens Trials
Kids and teens can experience age-appropriate classes in:
- Gi Jiu-Jitsu
- Muay Thai
- Mixed Martial Arts
- Kids and Family Jiu-Jitsu
Classes focus on confidence, discipline, coordination, communication and controlled skill development.
A parent or guardian must complete the registration form for anyone under 18.

We are close to Warringah Mall and within walking distance of the B-Line bus stop.
Free parking is available at Warringah Mall, with additional street parking on Cross Street and Old Pittwater Road.
Please allow enough time to find the entrance and arrive around 10 minutes before your first class.

What to Bring
For your first class, bring:
- Comfortable athletic clothing
- A water bottle
- Footwear to wear off the mats
- Any personal protective equipment you already own
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
You do not need to purchase a complete set of equipment before your trial.
Speak with a coach before buying gloves, shin guards, uniforms or other training gear.
After Your Free Trial
There is no obligation to join.
Should you decide to continue, you can choose a membership based on how often you want to train.
Adult memberships provide access to Muay Thai, No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu and MMA classes appropriate to your level.
Kids and teens memberships provide access to eligible age-appropriate programs.
There is no joining fee and no fixed-term contract. One week’s cancellation notice applies.

Is the trial completely free?
Yes. Eligible new students can experience suitable Apex beginner classes for seven days without paying a trial fee.
When does my seven-day trial begin?
Your trial begins from the agreed starting date arranged with the Apex team.
Can I try more than one martial art?
Yes. Adults can experience suitable beginner classes in Muay Thai, No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu and MMA during the trial.
Can I train only Muay Thai or Jiu-Jitsu?
Yes. Both are complete standalone pathways. You are not required to train MMA or combine programs.
Do I need previous experience?
No. Beginner programs are designed for people starting with no previous martial arts experience.
Do I need to be fit?
No. Training will help you gradually improve your fitness, balance, coordination and confidence.
Will I have to spar?
No. Sparring is optional.
Beginner classes have no head contact and use controlled training methods.
Will I be punched or kicked?
Beginner classes do not include head contact.
Muay Thai students practise through padwork and controlled partner exercises.
Do I need to buy equipment?
No. Comfortable athletic clothing is enough to begin.
