Brian Ebersole Special Guest Instructor at Apex MMA
Apex MMA is excited to welcome Brian Ebersole as a special guest instructor for a one-hour class focused on Clinch Concepts for MMA and Muay Thai.
The class will run on Wednesday 3 June, 2026, from 5:30PM to 6:30PM at Apex MMA in Brookvale.
This session is open to all levels.
Whether you train MMA, Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu or wrestling, the clinch is one of the most important areas to understand. It is where striking, control, takedowns, balance and pressure all meet.
Clinch Concepts for MMA and Muay Thai
The clinch sits at the intersection of several key ranges.
At Apex MMA, we break martial arts training into clear ranges:
- STR // Striking
- CLN // Clinching
- WRS // Wrestling
- GRP // Grappling
The clinch connects these ranges.
In Muay Thai, the clinch can be used to control posture, land knees, off-balance an opponent and create dominant positions. In MMA, the clinch also connects to takedowns, cage control, dirty boxing and defensive wrestling.
That makes it one of the best areas to study if you want to understand how different combat sports link together.

A Practical Class for All Levels
This class is designed to be practical.
You do not need to be a fighter to attend. You do not need years of experience. The session is open to all levels and will focus on ideas that can help beginners, intermediate students and experienced athletes.
Students can expect to learn concepts that apply across:
- MMA
- Muay Thai
- Wrestling
- Clinch control
- Competition preparation
- General martial arts development
If you are newer to training, this is a chance to see how the arts connect.
If you are more experienced, this is a chance to refine your understanding of range, control and transitions.
Continuous Improvement Through Better Connections
At Apex MMA, we value continuous improvement.
CORE VALUE || IMPROVEMENT
改善 || Kaizen
Improvement is not only about learning more techniques. It is about seeing the deeper links between what you already know.
A strong clinch connects striking to wrestling. It connects balance to pressure. It connects offence to defence. It connects Muay Thai to MMA.
That is why this session with Brian Ebersole fits so well with the Apex MMA approach.
We train across arts, but we also look at how those arts work together.
ARTS || MMA // MXT // JXJ
RANGES || STR // CLN // WRS // GRP
